Landscape Journal NEWS

Release Date: February 24, 2009

NEW EDITORS CHOSEN. The Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture (CELA) is pleased and proud to announce that a new editorial team has been chosen to lead Landscape Journal. Lance Neckar and David Pitt (University of Minnesota) were chosen from a number of extremely well-qualified applicants for this honor. One of the new features being introduced by the incoming editors is the addition of a blog featuring topical discussion on a variety of currents of interest to Journal readers and contributors.
The new editors assume day-to-day management of the Journal on 15 January, 2009, with full responsibility for receiving, processing, and selecting new manuscripts, and editing Volume 29 (Spring 2010).  During the transition period, former editor Elen Deming and managing editor Kate Auwaerter will produce Volume 28:1 (Spring 2009), and partner with the new editors on the production of Volume 28:2 (Fall 2009).
The editors also warmly thank Book Reviews Editor, Dan Nadenicek (Dean, College of Environmental Design, University of Georgia), who steps down after five years of service, for his very capable and collegial support.  A new book reviews editor will be selected soon by the Minnesota team.
ASLA AWARD. In October 2008, Landscape Journal was the recipient of an Honor Award in Communications from the American Society of Landscape Architecture, to recognize its 25th anniversary. Founded in 1982, Landscape Journal was established to support scholarship and communication in the field of landscape architecture and related academic and professional disciplines.
