Assistant Professor (tenure track)

Duties: The Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture, Purdue University, announces an academic year, tenure-track assistant professor position in Landscape Architecture. The successful candidate will establish a program of engaging classroom and studio-based teaching and will be expected to develop a clearly-defined program of scholarship leading to the development of new disciplinary knowledge. While all candidates must possess a broad set of skills applicable to a comprehensive education in landscape architecture, this position requires expertise in design theory and process, community planning and design and traditional and digital communication graphics. Candidates should possess a commitment to community engagement and service learning. Collaborative approaches to scholarship at regional, national and international levels are strongly encouraged.

The Landscape Architecture Program at Purdue University is a five-year professionally accredited undergraduate program leading to a B.S.L.A. degree. Qualifications: A terminal graduate degree in the candidate's primary field of expertise is required. At least one degree held by the candidate must be in landscape architecture. A Ph.D. in landscape architecture or a related field is desirable as is a notable record of professional and/or scholarly accomplishments in landscape architecture or a related field.

Compensation: Salary will be competitive and commensurate with professional experience. This is an academic year appointment with excellent fringe benefits that include employer contributions to the individual's retirement program, medical, life & disability insurance, and sabbatical-leave opportunities.
